The memorial service for Mildred G. Johnson, 94, of Fremont will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Hooper.
She died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
Mildred Suhr was born May 8, 1909, in rural Scribner. She was a graduate of Uehling High School. She married Melvin H. Johnson on Dec. 2, 1930, in rural Hooper. After her marriage, she lived in the Uehling area until 1934, when she moved to Plano, Ill., where she attended First Lutheran Church. She served on the church council, Altar Guild and building committee. She also served as secretary for the Illinois Northeastern District of the Lutheran Women's Missionary Federation. She moved to Scribner in 1976 and became a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Hooper, where she joined the Ladies Aid and served on the Altar Guild. She moved to Fremont in 1984 and was a former member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church and Joy Circle. Her spouse preceded her in death Nov. 14, 2001.
She is a current member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include 13 nieces and nephews, including Nadine (Mrs. Russel) Johnson of Scribner.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
The Rev. Robert Larson will officiate Tuesday's service. There is no visitation. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, north of Hooper.
Memorials are preferred.
