Mitch Mahoney, 63 years, of Fremont, Nebraska passed away Monday, October 6, 2025 in Fremont.
Mitch was born on January 24, 1962, in Fremont, Nebraska, to Dave and Bonnie (Novak) Mahoney. Mitch graduated high school in 1980 from Fremont Senior High. Mitch worked as an HVAC technician for Walldingers in Omaha and retired on July 31, 2024.
On April 16, 1987, he married Charlotte Robertson.
Mitch enjoyed a life full of outdoor adventures and family time. He was a proud member of the Fremont Anglers. He also belonged to Spring Lake "River Rats", where he and his family had a favorite camping spot. He loved riding the trails on his side-by-side, fishing, camping, and traveling with his family. He also played in a golf league and took great joy in sharing these passions with those closest to him.
In his younger years, Mitch loved pheasant hunting and later joined the Duck Club near Morse Bluff. He especially looked forward to duck hunting in the fall and cherished his dogs. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his grandchildren.
Mitch is survived by his wife, Charlotte; son, Vince; daughter, Emily; sisters, Michelle (Doug) Cash, Cheryl (Chris) Hancock, and Chantel (Berk) Brown; grandchildren, Eva and Ronin Payne; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Barry; brother-in-law, Bob Horner; and nephew, Kyle Kruger.
A Celebration of Life service will be 11 A.M., Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Methodist Fremont Health Chaplain Scott Jensen will officiate. A memorial visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at Moser's.
Burial will take place at a later date.
