Patsy J. Walkenhorst, 88, of Arlington, went to her heavenly home on Dec. 14, 2024.

Patsy was born in Fremont on Feb. 1, 1936, to John and Mary Hansen. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1953 and worked for Campbell's Soup company after high school.

Patsy met and married Ted Walkenhorst on Nov. 24, 1957, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. They were blessed with 51 years of marriage. For many years, Pat dedicated her time to her kids as a stay-at-home mom, working many part-time jobs and dedicating time at the schools and church.

For many years, Patsy devoted herself to raising her children as a stay-at-home mom. She supported their activities, worked part-time jobs, and gave countless hours volunteering at their schools and at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she served as the librarian and taught Sunday school for many years.

Patsy was a wonderful mother and will be missed dearly by her children. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Mark (Jean) Walkenhorst, of Wahoo, NE; Pam (Jay) Kock, of Fremont, NE; Dan (Danice) Walkenhorst, of Arlington, NE; and Tim (Amy) Walkenhorst, of Parker, CO.

She is also survived by her sister, Betty Schroeder; and brother, Robert Hansen (Janice). Ten grandchildren (and five great-grandchildren) include: Shannon (Erin), Jennifer, and Ashley Kock; Josh (McKenzie) and Zach Walkenhorst; Luke (Tanya), Landon, and Evie Walkenhorst: Millie and Gus Walkenhorst. Patsy is preceded in death by husband, Ted; her parents, John and Mary Hansen; her sister, Roseann Begay; and great-granddaughter, Aurora.

Memorials can be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. Funeral will be Friday, Dec. 27th, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation will be Thursday the 26th with family members receiving guests from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Reckmeyer - Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, NE.
