Steven Steele Gray

November 15, 1935 – September 24, 2018

Steven Steele Gray, age 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, in Tecate, Baja California, Mexico, at his home.

Steve was born on Nov. 15, 1935, to Charles Edgar and Myrtle Ethel (Holmes) Gray in Lousiville, Nebraska. He attended school in Louisville and graduated from Louisville High in 1953. Steve began his working career at Ash Grove Cement Company in Louisville. He retired from the company in 1994 as a Laboratory Technician after 41 years of service. Steve lived in Louisville, Cedar Creek, Plattsmouth, Nebraska City, and Omaha, Nebraska, through the years. In the final part of his years he lived with Micheal and Sharlene (Gray) Floyd in Bellevue, Nebraska, Bristow, Oklahoma, and in Tecate, Mexico.

Steve met Ruth Ann Persinger in Cedar Creek, Nebraska, and were later married on Aug. 14, 1955, in Cedar Creek. Ruth and Steve were baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses on Nov. 15, 1958. Both were longtime members of the Plattsmouth Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Steve is survived by two daughters, Sharlene Floyd and her husband Micheal, Stephanie Beach; five sons, Steven D. Gray and wife Dora, Curtis Gray and wife Loretta, Patrick Gray and wife Jennifer, Gregory Gray and wife Tonya, Matthew Gray and wife Tami; daughter-in-law, Kari Gray; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, George Gray and wife Karen; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Gray; son, Timothy Gray; his parents, Charles and Myrtle Gray; and brothers, Charles Gray, Michael Gray, and Jerry Gray.
