Areveal Paggett Obituary

AREVEAL PAGGETT, SR. Areveal Paggett, Sr. was born February 12, 1917, in Jonesboro, LA. He passed away, at age 86, on Saturday, August 30, 2003, of a sudden heart attack. A Fresno resident of 59 years, he was a construction trucker, and a lifetime Teamster until his retirement from Clovis Ready Mix. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ida Lee Paggett; they were the pillars of a close-knit community of family and friends. He was a devoted member and deacon of Deliverance Temple Church, a tireless, loving father and a friend to all he encountered. He took endless joy in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were the light of his life. Mr. Paggett is survived by one brother, Alvester Paggett of Dodge, LA; a sister, Eva Ray Phillips of San Diego, CA; his seven children, Georgetta Paggett, Jo Anna Thompson, Arveal Paggett, Jr., Keith Paggett, Debra Paggett of Fresno, CA, Mary C. Thomas of Hercules, CA, and Patricia Sandoval of Kensington, CA; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Jesse E. Cooley Jr. Funeral Service on Friday, September 5, 2003, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church on Saturday, September 6, 2003, at 11:00 a.m., followed by internment at Belmont Memorial Park. Flowers and cards may be sent to 2573 S. Poppy Fresno, CA 93706.

Dearest Cousins, My prayers are with you through this difficult time. I understand and know what you are going through. Our love ones are in a better place. No pain, no fears just peace of mine. You are all in my prayers. I know this is going to be hard for all of you but, always remember what a blessing it was for you to have had him around for as many years as you did and the same goes for your children and he was even more blessed to have had great-grandchildren. This world we live in was just not good enough for your father and grandfather so our "Heavenly Father" called him to a much better place. Uncle Booze and Aunt Ida are together again they are both missed and will both be remembered. I love all of you very much, Erika
