BARBARA DODDS Obituary

Barbara Degen Dodds, age 94, passed away at her home in Fresno, CA, on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Barbara was born in Chicago, IL, on January 22, 1921. She grew up in Chicago, spending many summers with her cousins on their family's farm near Ames, IA. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of Illinois in 1942, and a Master's Degree in Psychology from Iowa State University in 1949. Barbara and John Parry Dodds, were married on December 27, 1948, in Ames. They celebrated their 65 year wedding anniversary in 2013. They lived in Des Moines, IA; Brookings, SD; and Ames, IA, before moving to Fresno in 1964. She was preceded in death by her husband Parry, on August 29, 2014. Barbara is survived by her sons, Pat and Rick; daughters-in-law, Liz and Jill; grandchildren, Daniel, Emily, John, Katie, and Elsa; and great-grandchildren, Flora and Marshall. A Memorial Service will be held at Community United Church of Christ, 5550 N. Fresno St., Fresno, 93710, on Friday, February 20, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to Community United Church of Christ.
