Blanche Marie Bauer

BLANCHE MARIE BAUER Blanche was born on May 23, 1915, in Waterloo, Nebraska and passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2006, in Fresno, California at the age of 91. Blanche was raised in Kearney, Nebraska. She graduated from Kearney High School in 1933, and attended college in Kearney. She married Keith Bauer in 1937 and moved to Fresno in 1939, where she has resided for 67 years. She has been a widow since 1966. Blanche worked as a lab technician for Dried Fruit Association of California for 40 years. She retired at age 75. She was an active member of the Progressive Home Club. She was also a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Fresno. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Bauer; and two grandsons, Erik Von Bauer and James Aldrich. Blanche was a supportive mother who thoroughly enjoyed involvement with her children's activities. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who treasured the time she shared with them. She is survived by a son, John Bauer and his wife Vicki; and a daughter, Joan Adams and her husband Darrel. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jenny Wentz, Michael Bauer, Jon Adams, Joy Nickel, Christopher Adams and Jodi Salazar and their spouses. She also has 11 great-grandchildren. She was the sixth child in a family of seven and is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Yenckel of Scottsdale, Arizona. Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at The Bridge Evangelical Church on Thursday, December 14, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
