Bob Flores

BOB FLORES Bob was born on September 12, 1935, in Fresno, and was raised in Sanger, California. He passed away suddenly of a heart attack on Monday, February 12, 2007, at the age of 71. Bob was well known in the community, a lot of people called him "Bobby". For 15 years he owned the popular sports bar "The Checkmates" which was located in the Sunnyside area of Fresno. It was noted for great food and the great Raider memorabilia. He retired in 1995. He served many customers and Raider fans and coordinated bus trips to Raider games during the years his brother, Tom Flores was the head coach for the Raider organization. Bob was an avid Sanger High School Apache supporter, as he was a former Apache himself. Bob will be greatly missed by his many friends and family who knew him and loved him. Bob was preceded in death by father, Tom C. Flores; and mother, Nellie Flores. He is survived by his daughter, Jacque S. Flores-Morse and her husband Marty of Fresno; his brother, Tom Flores and his wife Barbara of Indian Wells; niece, Kim Vela and her husband David of Orange, California; nephews, Mark Flores and his wife Julie of Huntington Beach, and Scott Flores and his wife Lydia of Boulder, Colorado; uncle, Steve Padilla and his wife Lupe; and great-nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial to be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 828 'O' Street in Sanger on Monday, February 19, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. The Family requests that remembrances be made to the Tom Flores Youth Foundation, P.O.
