May 31, 1949 - June 3, 2021
Selma, California - Calvin was born to Toichi and Kimiyo Doi on May 31, 1949. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 3, 2021 after a brief battle with lung cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Julie, daughters Wendy and Kelly and granddaughters Mylah and Kennedy. He was the oldest of three children, sister Susan Middleton and Bruce Doi.
Calvin grew up in Sanger, worked on the family farm, packing companies, graduated from Fresno State and had a career as a PCA Consultant for over forty years at Sanger Nursery, Britz in Parlier and Gar in Reedley. Calvin enjoyed fishing and bowling in his younger years and golfing in his later years. He also enjoyed watching auto racing and auto auctions (Mecum and Barrett Jackson). Calvin enjoyed playing keno for hours and he usually won at the Californian in Las Vegas. He was a church leader and was very involved in many church organizations.
Family, friends and others whose lives Calvin touched are invited to his memorial service at the Buddhist Church of Parlier, 360 S. Newmark Ave. Parlier, CA on Tuesday, July 6 at 10am.
Masks are required at the service.

We're so sorry and stunned to hear of Calvin's passing. We enjoyed seeing and talking to Calvin when he'd visit us at Renaud Chiropractic for his weekly visits. Amazing man with a big heart. We're very thankful to have met Calvin and so very sorry for his loss. We will miss him very much and may he rest in peace

I am so sorry to hear Calvin's passing. Calvin was my 1st Manager, after I graduated from college, Calvin hired me at Britz Fertilizer in Parlier, for about 2 yrs. I would run into Calvin at the Parlier Post Office, I last talked to him at the end of May 2021. Calvin was a good person, I enjoyed working with him and talking to him when ever I saw him. He was always very positive and in good spirits. I had no idea he was sick. So Sorry!!
