Fresno, California - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Jean Martin, who departed this world peacefully on June 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 27, 1933 in Los Angeles, and raised In Fresno, California, Carol lived a life rich in love, kindness, and generosity.
Carol was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Barstow and husband Honorable Justice Robert L. Martin. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her son, Rick Barstow and wife Jan, her grandchildren, Lindsay Tharp, Jillian West, and Kherstin Condry and six great-grandchildren, Isabella, Wyatt, Paxton, Hudson, Oliver, and Bodhi, as well as her nephew, Duaine Culpepper. She also leaves behind her dearest friends Donna Meeker and Janice Blagen, as well as other family, friends and her furry loyal companion Gregory.
Throughout her 90 years, Carol touched the lives of many with her unwavering kindness and gentle spirit. She had a passion for planning her class reunions, playing bridge, watching football and attending live theater. Her home was always a place of warmth and welcome. She was also known for hosting delightful dinner parties, where her culinary skills and warm hospitality made every gathering memorable.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held on June 10th at 3pm at Farewell Funeral Service- Palm Bluffs, 660 W. Locust Ave., Ste 101, Fresno, CA 93650. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Carol are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Valley Children's Hospital.

My heart goes out to Carol´s family. My mom, Bettie, played bridge with Carol, Jan, Bonnie, and Joann for years. Carol was wonderful and so much fun.
