Theresa Flores Obituary

Theresa Flores,77, of Amarillo, TX, passed away Tuesday, March,24,2026

She was born in Amarillo Tx January,26,1949 to Eva Jimmez and Reno Rodriguez

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Eva Jimenez and Reno Rodrigues, her two sisters, Dolores Espinosa and Carmen Valadez, one brother, Reno Rodrigues, a son, Francisco Avila Junior, one daughter Angle Flores and a great-granddaughter, Sophia Mendoza

Left to cherish her memories are Her children, Anthony Flores, Robert Flores, Lorina Flores all of Amarillo, Texas, her sisters, Lydia, Mary husband Ici, Veronica husband Jesus Rivera, Eva husband, Benito Castaneda all of Amarillo, Tx also leaving nine grandchildren, Kylie, Eli, Tyler, Celine, Amaya, Marco, Sarya, Ishmael and Bella and four great grandchildren to which she would all tell “I’ll love you today tomorrow and always”

Teresa Flores wasn’t only a mother, sister, grandmother, nor a friend. She was a phone call away that always seemed to turn into hours of jokes, drama and random conversation. She was a delicious home-cooked meal after a long day, followed by a sweet treat. Her vibrant personality shone through with each smirk, wink, or smile she flashed at you after slipping in a raunchy joke into the conversation. She was the definition of a DIY, always tearing apart and re-creating things to her desire, just as hardheaded as she was hard of hearing. You could tell her good morning and she would say “what the mailman's here” leaving you with a smile when going to visit, you could either show up to a freshly baked good or her in the midst of rearranging her whole house and influencing you to help leaving nothing better to say than “aye Theresa” some of the best conversation consisted of her trying scheme someone into taking her to the slot machines or to bingo with her colorful bingo dabber’s anytime Theresa walked into a room you were in for a treat she was either showing off her many new hair styles or interrogating you about the latest love in your life. She loved to be out and about when everybody doubted her ability to be on her own and drive; she’d show up, pick up all of her sisters, and go thrift shopping or just be out in the mix with everybody. She enjoyed being near you, whether to help you with your dishes or fold laundry. Her presence motivated you and gave you the motivation to take care of yourself. One thing about Theresa was that she loved the word of God; it didn't matter the denomination she invited in anyone who shared the craving to better understand the Lord's work. Towards the end miss Theresa never gave up her spunk. She was still full of charisma and more stubborn than ever leave her nurses and caregivers speechless, but with stories to pass on, she was truly a unique soul that will never be forgotten. So I encourage you to keep her alive in your thoughts every time you yell “BINGO,” try a new risky hairstyle, perfect a family recipe, find the last piece to your puzzle, or tell a dirty joke. Thank you all for joining us in celebrating Theresa’s final walk with the lord.
