Walter Lee Morris

Walter Lee Morris, 89, of Amarillo went to be with the Lord, March 28, 2026. 

Services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, with Pastor Dale Rollins officiating. A private burial will be held at Memory Gardens cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. 

Walter was born July 13, 1937 in Long Grove, Oklahoma to Troy and Connie Morris. He graduated from Long Grove, high school and married Katherine Marie ( Kay )Jackson in Amarillo Texas on April 18, 1958.

He was an excellent carpenter beginning in 1957. In 1960 Walter was drafted into the Army. After receiving an honorable discharge, Walter began building homes in Amarillo. He could do all aspects of the building process.

He took up golf six months before retiring and ended up having a hole in one.

Walter and his wife Kay are members at the church at Quail Creek.

Walter is survived by his wife Kay of the home ; a son Cody Morris and his wife Wendy another son Walter Morris Jr. and his wife Alicia and a third son Wade Morris and his wife Amber, all of Amarillo. He is also survived by a brother Troy Morris Jr. and his wife Linda of Long Grove, Oklahoma and 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
