CATHY HENNING Obituary

Cathy found peace at home on Thursday, December 10, 2009, with her husband and family members continually at her side during her courageous fight against cancer. Cathy was born in London, England to M/Sgt. William D. Church, Jr. USAF and Leora "Lee" Church. Her family moved to California after twenty years of military living. She graduated from McLane High School in 1975, and furthered her education to become a Registered Nurse. She worked at St. Agnes Medical Center and loved her job, co-workers, and staff; they were family. Cathy was preceded in death by her father; and by her nephew, Danny Taylor. She is survived by her husband, Allen Henning; mother, Lee Church; son, Brandon Brooksher; stepsons, Nathan and Max; brothers, Bob, Bill, David, Michael and his wife Mary, and Dan and his wife Sandra; sister, Susan Whistler and her husband Michael; and many special nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. with private family interment at Clovis Cemetery District. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to St. Agnes Med. Ctr. Foundation, P.O. Box 27350, Fresno, Ca. 93729. YOST & WEBB 1002 'T' Street Fresno (559)237-4147 www.YostandWebb.com

Dear Lee, Bill, David, Mike, Danny, Bobby, and Susie, there are no words. Please know my heart is breaking for all of you. Lee and Susie Iam so thankful for the lunch we all got together, and took pictures, we had so much fun. My friend Hannah was with me, she loved all of you, on the first meeting, remember? Cathy was always the same warm and wonderful friend, even if 10 years went by without seeing each other. Allen and Brandon, I know you don't know me, but I'm so sorry for your loss. Bye Cathy, Love You, Friends Forever. Kumbaya

Cathy was one of those people that left a lasting impression. We went to school together for 3 years in junior high but she became one of those friends you never forget. We were somehow able to stay in touch occasionally even though we only saw each other once in the last 35 years, the memories I have of those school girl days will always be treasured. I was truly blessed to have known this wonderful woman. To the Church family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless, Kim

Kathy,
My work and lunch buddy. I already miss our talks about food and recipes. Your rib recipe was delicious! Thank you for your many suggestions on restaurants to eat at. I feel like I knew you forever but it was only a short time. I will think of you always when I work on 1 North. You will be miss by all who you worked with and your laugh will never be forgotten.

Cathy, You were such a pleasure to be around. Always funny, always thoughtful. So many peoples lives have been touched, family, friends, patients, and many old clients who still can't find anyone who did their hair as perfect as you did back in the day. You accomplished so much, worked so hard and were so brave. My prayers and deepest condolences going out to the Church Family and all whom are mourning this passing of a beautiful person who is now one with the "Angels in Heaven".

Cathy will be so missed by so many because she touched all who came into her life. She was my Rock n Roll buddy at Mclane and turned me on to many great bands and most important she introduced me to the wonderful Church family. My deepest sympathy to all the family and especially you Brandon. Hold your head up high and know your Mother was one heck of a Lady. I will miss her beautiful smile. God Bless

To the entire Church family, you have my deepest most sincere condolences on the passing of Cathy. She truly had such a kind, giving personality. Her smile and soft demeanor touched all those who knew her. We can rest assured she will be looking over all of us that loved her. Celebrate the times we all shared with her, that would be her wish for us I am sure. One day we will all witness her beautiful smile and warm embrace again.
