Daisy Alice Blevins "Miss Daisy" left us to join her beloved husband of 72 years, Earnest Eugene Blevins. She was at home surrounded by her loving family when she went to join all of her loved ones in heaven.
Daisy was born in Fresno on October 17, 1919. She was a lifelong resident of Fresno and Lemoore where she was raised under the watchful eye of her mother, Sophie Yelkin, along with her brother, Frank Rothenfluh and her four sisters, Theresa Vieira, Mary Areia, Rosie Vieira Burch and Ida Burch.
She attended Lemoore High School where she met and married the love of her life, Ernie aka Gene Blevins and together they raised three children. She was employed by Roma Winery for many years. Daisy was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and true friend. She was deeply loved by all and even at the end of her 92 years could fill a room with love and laughter.
The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. Michael Castillo, St. Agnes Hospice and Naomi Sanchez and Cheryl Pence from Well-Being Senior Solutions for their tender loving care of Daisy during her last days.
She will be greatly missed by the large extended family she loved so much, her children, Beverly Millhouse and her husband Robert, James Blevins and his wife Patricia, Jeannie Kidd and her husband William. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Donald Obradovich and his wife Sherry, Kathleen Austin and her husband Jim, Keith Millhouse and his wife Mari, Glenn Millhouse and his wife Tara, Karen Millhouse, Kimberly Mulhern and her husband Lance, Cynthia West, Stephen Kidd, and Marci Sanders and her husband Michael; 14 great-grandchildren; her many nieces, nephews; and a life time of friends.
A Celebration of Daisy's Life will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.

We were neighbors of Ernie and Daisy's for many years on East Fremont. What a wonderful woman Daisy was! I was so sad to see that she had passed. She will certainly be missed!

As I was reading of Daisy's passing, so many great memories of my short time with the family came rushing back to me. Daisy and Gene were the greatest couple and so much fun to be around. As a young adult I remember the vacations your family included me in, especially the trips to Bass Lake and Morro Bay and how how much fun it was. To Beverly, Jim and Jeannie I send my sincere condolences.
