Dan Quan Obituary

Dan Quan
March 6, 1961 - May 25, 2021
Fresno, California - His family and friends can offer fair warning to those who will have the pleasure to meet him in the great afterlife of his choosing. He was witty, intelligent and not afraid to back up his words and opinion, deliberately, if the moment seemed to require it. My guess is he will look an awful lot like Björn Borg, whom he aspired to be, during his junior and pro-am tennis career. Or maybe he will look like Ken Dryden, the incredible Montreal Canadiens goalie, Bob Dylan would also seem like a suitable image of Dan, if he so chooses.
Dan was an eclectic mix of amazing talents, athletics, academics and music. He studied Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in San Francisco and opened a successful practice in Fresno, CA. He also was a tennis professional and taught tennis at many of the tennis clubs locally. He loved music and was a practiced and competent guitar player, who also thought he could carry a tune with his voice, but, even Dan had some limitations.
An engaging smile, infectious laugh, quirky sense of humor and strong opinion, always made Dan someone who was fun to be around. He was full of love and pride for his daughter Grace and loyal to a fault when it came to friends and family. He will be missed, but will always be remembered for what he was and could have been if life somehow offered him a more fair and just outcome. We will always love you.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1533 N. Farris Avenue, Fresno, CA. on June 19, 2021 at 6 pm. An outdoor, casual occasion, in memory of Dan.

Dan became a friend to Smokey and me after we met and shared a Lyme diagnosis. We moved to North Idaho in 2020 and lost track of Dan and his health struggle. I tried to call and decided to look on the internet when I found the obit. I am so sad about this loss. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his whole family. I would love to hear from Anita if she feels like reaching out to me. Hopefully, she can connect with me. Joanna Hudson

I am so sad to see this post. I was a patient of Dan's and remember when he became ill in 2010/2011. We shared a diagnosis and we talked on the phone several times sharing information trying to get ahead of this insidious illness. He helped me through many pains. He was a wonderful LAC and I considered him a friend as we shared our woes. My husband and I retired and relocated to Northern Idaho and I lost touch with Dan. I have been searching Google and found this memoriam. My husband and I extend our deepest condolences to the family and and if Anita reads this please reach out to Joanna Hudson.

My condolences to Dan's family, friends and loved ones. As a Chiropractor and health professional I saw Dan for acupuncture. He always made me feel better and was such a kind, warm and welcoming soul. I referred many people to him. He was always caring and compassionate. He left a beautiful inspirational feeling to others as well as myself. His spirit will be truly missed. Blessings Salo Stanley DC

My sincere condolences to Dan's loved ones. After a horrific cycling accident, I went to Dan for acupuncture. He was an extraordinarily compassionate, gentle, and professional practitioner. I'm grateful for his good work and for the part he played as a member of my team of healers.
