Delia Dorothy Pellegrino

Delia Dorothy Pellegrino was born on September 21, 1915, in Kansas City, Missouri and passed away while in the loving presence of family and friends on Saturday, February 9, 2008, in Fresno, at the age of 92. Delia was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 47 years, Dominic Dick Pellegrino. Delia owned her own beauty shop during her early years, and then, along with her husband, owned and operated D & D Market in Fresno, Viking Market in Kingsburg and Super Save Market in Selma. Delia, a devout Catholic, was devoted to family and loyal to friends. Her grandchildren will always remember their Nani Dee's compassionate nature, her wonderful Italian cooking and most important, the love, encouragement and support she provided them throughout the years. For the past nine months Delia lived with her beloved sister L0uise at the Nazareth House in Fresno. The Pellegrino family would like to thank the staff at the Nazareth House for their kindness, attentiveness and exceptional care they provide to all of the residents. Special appreciation is extended to Sister Marie for her compassion and understanding. Delia is survived by her sister, Louise Maggio; her brother, Matt Maggio and his family; her son Michael and his wife Sue; her grandson Michael and his wife Nikki; her granddaughter Nicole and her flancé, Joseph Pressutti. Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Thursday, February 14, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery Remembrances may be made to the Nazareth House of Fresno, 2121 N.
