DOROTHY WINDSOR Obituary

Dorothy, age 94, of Caruthers, CA passed away on Wednesday October 8, 2014. She was born on March 5, 1920, to the late Jessie Irene and Albert Qualls. After graduating Caruthers High School, she attended Federico's Beauty College. She would eventually open her own business, Dorothy's Beauty Nook, where she worked as a Beautician for 40 plus years until retiring. She married Harold Cunningham on December 20, 1942. Harold's military career had them living and traveling in various locations from Indianapolis to Santa Rosa. They returned to Caruthers and the family farm in the early 1950's where she would spend the rest of her lifetime. Several years after her first husband's death on August 5, 1962, she married Ernest Windsor on October 14, 1970. They spent many years of retirement together and remained married until his death on February 13, 2012. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her brothers, Norman, Pete, and Robert 'Bob'; sister Evelyn; and niece, Sharon 'Sissy'. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Cunningham, of Caruthers, CA; niece, Arlene Davis, of Clovis, CA; and her faithful dog and constant companion Buffy. A Special thanks to Myra and Carlos at the Millbrae Care Home for the quality of care and compassion they provided these last several months. A Graveside Service was held at Washington Colony Cemetery on Saturday October 11, 2014. Remembrances may be made to the Central California SPCA Animal Shelter, 103 S. Hughes Ave., Fresno, CA 93706.
