June 22, 1933 - October 11, 2022
Fresno, California - Duane L. Johnson passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the age of 89. Duane was proud to have served in the Air Force in the 497th fighter wing and was retired from being a farmer, dairyman, and truck driver. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and touched many lives as an usher at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. As a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, he helped fellow boaters on Millerton Lake. He could fix anything and enjoyed restoring vintage cars and clocks of all kinds. His passions were fishing and RVing which he shared with friends and family as often as possible.
Duane will be greatly missed by his son, Michael (Mary) of Austin, granddaughters Megan and Morgan, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. His loving wife of 43 years, Lucy, preceded him in 2006.
The viewing will be Monday, October 24th 5-7pm at Whitehurst Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary and a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday October 25th at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Please join the reception following at Elite Event Venue. A private graveside service will be later at the Clovis Cemetery.
Remembrances may be made to Knights of Columbus Council 6092, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church or charity of your choice.
