Edward Lawrence Aschenbrenner was born on October 1, 1933, to Carl and Anna (Simon) Aschenbrenner in Fresno. He was the youngest of nine children. He passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.
On July 2, 1952, he married Patricia Barkema. They were married for 63 1/2 years. In 1953 he was drafted into the United States Army. When he got out he went to work for McKesson for 38 years.
He also loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He wrote two musicals which were performed in his church and Tera Bella.
The family wants to thank Orchard Park and Optimal Hospice for so lovingly taking care of Ed.
Ed is survived by his wife, Patricia; two sons, Lawrence and his wife Kathie and Kenneth and his wife Kelly; five grandchildren, Hannah Swinney and her husband Kory and Joshua Aschenbrenner of Fresno, Meridith, Hawley and Josh Cheney of Alabama.
A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 9:30 a.m.
A Memorial Service will follow at Peace Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Peace Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Ed was one of the sweetest men I have known . My fondest memories are of him at the piano,with a glass of wine next to the keyboard, filling the house with joy on endless afternoons. It was a privileged to be a part of your family back then. My sincere condolences Pat, I am sorry for your loss.
