Ed was a true gentleman and a remarkable Architect. He enriched the lives of the people he touched as well as Fresno's built environment. As a young man with a growing interest in Architecture, his buildings provided me with rare inspiration and helped to lead me into this career. His legacy lives on through his son Ed III, who continues the tradition of excellence his Father brought to all of his endeavors. We are all the better because of Ed's presence in our lives. May God bless Ed and his wonderful family.

Ed Darden completed countless remarkable projects in the valley and throughout his storied career provided guidance and mentorship to many entering the architectural profession. Always, and above all, he was a gentleman.
Fresno has lost the living presence of a fine architect, a valued colleague, a gentleman, and an ambassador for the profession. Memory must now honor the gracious contribution of his heart to human affairs.
