ELAINE JUNE SIMONIAN

Mrs. Elaine June Simonian, daughter of the late Harry Arootian, and Marie (Dadigian) Arootian, and sister to the late Gilbert Rudy, was born on June 10, 1938, in Selma, CA. She attended public schools in Parlier, CA, graduating from Parlier High School in 1956, and continuing her higher education at Fresno State College. At an early age Elaine was a dedicated member of the Colony Covenant Church in Kingsburg, CA, where she attended Sunday school and youth group gatherings. She was blessed as a gifted pianist and as such, was invited to be the piano accompanist for the church for several years. She later attended Pilgrim Armenian Congregational Church where she met the love of her life, Gary Charles Simonian. Gary and Elaine were united in holy matrimony on June 21, 1958, at the First Armenian Presbyterian Church. Their union was blessed with four children that brought years of great joy to both Gary and Elaine. Mrs. Simonian became an active and beloved member of the First Armenian Presbyterian Church serving as a Sunday school teacher, attending Bible studies and participating as a very active member of the Women's Fidelis Society. There were many fond memories of Elaine gathering in the church kitchen or at one of their homes, baking and cooking delicious Armenian delicacies. She developed life long, deep, friendships with many of these dear ladies. Those years brought much joy to Elaine serving her church family, and personal family with never ending love and devotion. Mrs. Simonian devoted countless hours as a volunteer in her children's classrooms serving as President of the Parent Teacher's Association, Room Mother, Classroom Volunteer, and Library Aide. Elaine and Gary hosted many fabulous fundraisers in their beautiful backyard to support the church and Sanger High Athletics. No matter what the task at hand, Elaine always gave one hundred and ten percent in all that she did. Elaine Simonian was an inspiration and role model for her family and friends. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband, Gary Charles Simonian; son, Gregory Charles Simonian and his wife Jeanne; daughter, Sarah Lynne Koligian and her husband Wayne; son, Peter Todd Simonian and his wife Patricia; son, Matthew Paul Simonian and his wife Valerie; grandchildren, Paul, Patrick, Kelly, John, and Katherine Koligian, Jonathan and Madison Simonian, Lauren and Taylor Simonian, Elizabeth, Margaret, and Samuel Simonian; and by great-granddaughter, Caroline Elaine Koligian. "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,ã who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 A Memorial Service will be held to honor and celebrate Elaine's life at the First Armenian Presbyterian Church, located at 430 First Street, Fresno, CA, 93702, on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Memorial Luncheon at the Church Social Hall. Remembrances may be sent to the First Armenian Presbyterian Church; or to the donor's favorite charity.
