EUGENE PAUL "Gene" MARSHALL

Gene Marshall passed to his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 27, 2018, ending a three year battle with ALS. He was born in Covina CA on April 7, 1937, to Henry and Eunice Marshall. He had four siblings, Glodeen, Marcie, Sylvia, and Denzil. Gene graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1955, then attended Fresno State College. Around that time he joined the United States Naval Reserves, and retired 25 years later as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. He was so proud to have served his country. He became a registered professional engineer and served CalTrans as a civil engineer in Fresno, CA, San Diego, CA, and Sacramento, CA, retiring after 40 years. In 1961, he married Linda Litten, and they had two children, Robert and Susan. Gene had many life interests including golf, gardening, and was a master of all trades at home. He was a past president of the Master Gardeners, a national program part of the University of California extension. He truly loved the program and the people. Gene and his wife, Linda, were a members of the Lucky Ones Good Sam RV club. That group became friends then family. They loved traveling and took several cross country trips. Gene was a devout Christian and an active member of Riverpark Bible Church where he gladly served. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sylvia Williams, who passed in 2017. He is survived by his wife, Linda, of 56 years; son, Robb and his wife Sarah, and their daughter, Kelsey Jonas of Santee, CA; daughter, Susan Marshall of Kauai, HI; sister, Marci Quarisa and husband Danny of Poway, CA; sister, Glodeen Marshall of Fresno, CA; and brother, Denzil Marshall of Twin Falls, ID. A Memorial Service will be held at Riverpark Bible Church, Alluvial and Millbrook, on Friday, August 10, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, CA.
