FRANK GONZALES

Life for Frank Gonzales, lovingly known as "Mr. G." by many, started on June 14, 1925, in Fresno, CA. He grew up on the golden west side of Fresno, where at a young age worked very hard. Frank enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed on the battleship USS Tennessee as a gunner's mate. He was involved in nine major conflicts in World War II. For this he was awarded several meritorious recommendations. Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Evangeline "Angie" Gonzales; his parents, Florencio Gonzales and Josephine Tarin; and his sister, Lupe Cadaos. He is survived by his son, Cornell Gonzales and his wife Rosemarie of Del Rey, CA; and his grandchildren, Cornell Gonzales II and his wife Pennie, Vera Reyes-Marquez, David Reyes, Angie Garcia and Jeannette Serrato. He will also be missed by his six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews that adored him. "Fair winds and smooth sailing." Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
