Gilbert Gaitan Obituary

Gilbert Gaitan was born on June 5, 1965, in Dinuba, California. He passed away peacefully at Stanford University Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved son of Jesse and Olivia Gaitan. Gilbert was a loving and devoted father, son and brother. He was spiritual and enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and being with his family. He especially en-joyed spending time with his daughter. He is survived by his daughter, Alexia Medina Gaitan and her mother, Nancy Medina-Peralta, bo-th of Fresno; his brothers, Jess Gaitan of New York, N.Y. and Michael Gaitan of Selma; sisters, Elizabeth Gaitan of Sacramento and Diane Gaitan of Selma; and his niece Isabella and his nephews Max and Aaron. He will be missed by all. Viewing will be held at Page Funeral Chapel in Selma on Thursday, March 6, 2008, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Selma on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Selma on Friday, March 7, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Floral Memorial Park in Selma. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to Stanford Univer-sity Medical Center, spe-cifying For the Benefit of Neurological Research, in Memory of Gilbert A. Gaitan. I would like to give my condolensces to the family. I knew Gilbert when I was married to his cousin Al Gaitan. He was a very nice and polite person with a lot of spunk. We will miss Gilbert, but his memories will remain in our hearts. God Bless.
