GLENDA LEE KHACHIGIAN

Glenda Lee Khachigian passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the age of 77. Glenda was born on March 5, 1937, in Bakersfield, CA to Glen and Marie Linnell Hartley. She moved to Visalia, CA in 1962, where she met her husband of 52 years, Luther Khachigian. They raised five children together. She followed her passion by founding and running a successful interior design business for more than 20 years, her talents gracing numerous residences and businesses in Tulare, Kings, Fresno, San Luis Obispo and San Francisco Counties. She also served on the Board of Directors of the family owned business, Cal-Western Farming Co., since 1970, and was a founder and member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Visalia. Following retirement, Glenda split time living between Visalia and her beloved Cayucos, CA, with her husband and kitties. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her "Ya-Yas" and her bridge club. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining, playing bridge, gardening and shopping for antiques, among other things. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Marie Hickson, in 2005. In addition to her husband, Glenda is survived by her sons, Grant Hickson and his wife Debbie, and son Luther Khachigian II; daughters, Teresa Khachigian-Ritchie and her husband Tom, and Elizabeth Michele Khachigian and her husband Jim Ryan; granddaughters, Carri Hickson DeMarta and her husband Dustin, Melissa Hickson Thorpe and her husband Brandon, and Alexis Hickson; grandsons, Andrew and Craig Ritchie; great-granddaughters, Skylar and Rylee Thorpe; great-grandson, Tyler Joseph De- Marta; brother, Jess Hartley; brothers-inlaw, Mel Khachigian, and Ken Khachigian and his wife Meredith; and numerous family members, friends and caregivers. A Celebration of Glenda's Life will be held at the Vintage Press in Visalia, CA on Saturday, November 29 , 2014, at 12:00 noon.
