Glenn F. Merkel
April 26, 1944 - February 17, 2021
Fresno, California - Glenn Fredrick Merkel, of Fresno CA. passed away on February 17th 2021 at the age of 76. He was born in Omaha, NE in 1944 to his parents Ray and Mary Merkel. He lived in Germany for a short time as a child and served in the U.S. Navy in Alameda CA in the early sixties, where he was an avid boxer. He met the love of his life, Patricia, and they married in 1963. They lived in Maryland and California throughout their lives. He worked as an auto body technician and shop manager for over 50 years, eventually opening his own body shop, Merkel's Auto Body in Fresno, CA. from which he retired. Glenn's favorite things to do were spending time with his family, golf and bass fishing.
Glenn is survived by his wife Patsy and his children Sally, Danny and Clay; along with their spouses Greg, Lisa, and Shanon; and his grandchildren Meghan, Sarah, Brittany and Samantha; and finally last but not least, his nieces & god daughter Tracie, Lori, and Ashley. Glenn was a beloved Father and Husband who will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
No services will be held. The family requests donations to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
