Grace May Goorigian Antoyan

Grace Antoyan Obituary

GRACE MAY GOORIGIAN ANTOYAN Grace Antoyan, devoted wife and homemaker died on Thursday, August 25, 2005, at the age of 92 years. She was born in Kingsburg, CA, on May 15, 1913, to the parents of Mugorditch and Krikor M. Goorigian, as the third of seven children. Her beauty and grace were very evident. She was the homecoming queen of Kingsburg High School during her senior year in 1931. Grace later met Tony Antoyan and in 1938, they were wed. They moved to Los Angeles so Grace could be closer to her sisters Alta and Maryann. In 1950, the Antoyans purchased a duplex where Grace could take care of her mother-in-law. Grace was always a loving and giving sister and wife. To Grace, her family meant everything. After the death of her sister Maryann, Grace moved back to Fresno, CA, in 1993. She and her sister, Alta Norsegian, were very close - compan- ions in levity and in life. They would spend time at each others homes, cooking. When the two sisters would go shopping they would tell jokes to the tellers and clerks keeping everyone laughing until they left the store. Grace and Alta were inseparable. Grace Goorigian Antoyan was the last direct descendent of the Krikor Goorigian family. She is survived by her niece, Eleanor Kundert; nephews, Teddy "Ted" Kat- zakian and Gary Goorigian; great nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Violet Goorigian; and brother-in-law, Jake Norsigian. A Funeral Service will be held at Holy Trinity Armenian Church on Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Fowler Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to California Armenian Home and the donor's favorite charity. YOST & WEBB FUNERAL HOME1002 "T" St. 237-4147
