Greta Serrano Obituary

Greta Jane Serrano, born March 6, 1931, in Minneapolis, MN to Naomi Frederick and Frederick Z. Hagerty, passed away on Jan. 10, 2019, surrounded by her family. She graduated from Stanford University School of Nursing in 1955 with a BSN, PHN, R.N. She earned a Master's degree in 1977 from CSU, Bakersfield (CSUB). She was a Public Health Nurse in CA. and New Mexico. She was a faculty member with CSUB Nursing Program. She was Director of Professional Services at Bakersfield Home Health and started Kern Hospice. She served as President of the Kern County Nursing Administrator Council (1993), and President of the Kern County R.N. Society (1994). Greta is survived by her married children, Randy and Stacey, Mike and Angela, Lisa and Vance Herring and seven grandchildren, Steven, Jessica, Matthew, Alyssa, Christina, Nicholas, and Ava, and brother, James Hagerty. Her husband, Rodolfo Serrano, preceded her in death. A Celebration of Life service will be held March 16, 2019, at 11:00 am at Boice Funeral Home in Clovis, CA.
