Hervey Brooks Obituary
June 15, 1927 - August 6, 2023
Reedley, California - Chic was born in Windsor, Missouri. He served in the military as a Merchant Marine during WW2.
He loved pigeons. He raised and raced them since he was 10. He was raised in a business family and had his own grocery store. When he sold the grocery store he went into the restaurant business. He was a prominent restaurateur throughout the rest of his life.

I wish to send my most sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Brooks. I had the honor of working for him as a manager for several years in the early 2000´s. I learned so much from him and I still think of him often. I just learned of his passing and my heart is heavy as I write this. He was on my mind for a good part of last summer and I wish I had taken a moment to reach out and say hi.
Mr. Brooks was such a unique character. He could make me laugh so hard with his humor and wit, while other times I wanted to pull my hair out lol. I will always remember his stories, his amazing ingenuity and drive, but mostly I will remember him as a friend and mentor. I never stopped caring for him even after we parted ways. He has my respect and admiration always. Here´s to you Mr. Brooks!! Thank you for everything. I pray you rest in peace. You are missed.

Mr. Brooks was such an amazing Boss and person to everyone who was part of his life! I´ll forever be greatful for the memories of Mr. Brooks I admire his sense of humor and his strength! Mr. Brooks took pride in his restaurants and he gave everyone he met a job if they needed it May you forever be at peace Mr. Brooks! I´ll miss you and remember you always!! * from when I worked with you throughout your Waffle and Ribs, Blueberry Hill and Brooks Ranch Days
