Howard C. Kidd

Howard Kidd, a religious man with a devotion to God, left us on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at the age of 89.He was born on April 25, 1920, in Gallagher, West Virginia and is one of 13 brothers and sisters. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II and was stationed outside of London with the 8th Air Force. Upon being discharged, he returned to West Virginia and married Alice Virginia Deal of Livingston, they were married for 62 years this past January 5, 2009.<-em> Howard retired from Cannelton Coal Company and was a member of Local Union 8843. He had been an active coal miner for more than 31 years, a member of the United Mine Workers for over 56 years, and a lifetime member of the The American Legion, Post 0594.<-em> The family would like to thank Dr. Sam Burklow and his assistant, Mary Lou, for all the years of kindness and sincere concern in their treatment of Howard's medical care. Also, the doctors and staff at Horizon Health Center, who cared for him during the last months of his life.<-em><-em> He was preceded in death by his parents, Narry Wesley and Anna Kidd; his brothers, Charles, Fred, Sammy and Mark Kidd; and sisters, Alice Giles, Mary Lawson, Beulah Kidd and Phyllis Kidd. He is survived by his son, Bill and his wife Jeannie of Clovis, Ca.; grandchildren, Stephen Kidd and his wife Jamie, and Marci Sanders and her husband Michael; great-grandchildren, Billy, Jakob, and Sammy Kidd and Logan and Brody Sanders. Also surviving are his brothers, Frank Kidd and Narry Wesley "June" Kidd, Jr.; and sisters, Nancy Keitz and Belva Eary, and many nieces and nephews.<-em> Visitation will be held at Boice Funeral Home in Clovis on Sunday, July 12, 2009, from 2:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m.<-em> A Graveside Service and interment will be held at Clovis Cemetery on Monday, July 13, 2009, at 10:00 a.m.<-em> BOICE FUNERAL HOME<-em> 308 Pollasky Avenu<-em> Clovis, Ca.
