INGEBORG WILLIAMS Obituary

Inkie Williams, age 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, surrounded by her family. Inkie was born on October 21, 1922, in Danevang, TX, a small Danish farming community, to Carl and Ida Thyssen. She had four brothers and three sisters. She met her husband, Don Williams, when he was stationed in Houston in the United States Army. They were married in 1943, and later settled in Fresno. They had two daughters, Elaine and Gail, and one son Lee. Don was a firefighter in the Fresno Fire Department for over 25 years. Inkie worked in the Escrow business. She was active in American Business Women's Association, Fireman's Auxiliary Wives, and Silver Connection at New Covenant Church. She also played in a pinochle club, bowling league, and bunco. She was a wonderful mother, a caring friend, and known for her endless energy and positive outlook on life. Inkie enjoyed traveling with Don in their motorhome and traveling with friends. She loved her roses and planting flowers in her garden. She loved to bake and make homemade jam every year. Inkie was preceded in death by her son Lee; and Don, her husband of 54 years. She is survived by one sister Dagmar; daughter Elaine; Dave Rountree; daughter, Gail Evans and husband David; her grandchildren, Craig Wisner and wife Lusi, and Daniel, Mark, and Steven Evans; her three great-grandchildren, Shant, Sage, and Dylan; and Inkie's many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the wonderful staff of Cedarbrook Memory Care; and the staff of Optimal Hospice Care. A Memorial Service to Celebrate her Life will be held at Mansionette Condominiums Clubhouse, 1542 E. Alluvial, Fresno, CA, on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

I worked with Inkie for ten years, 1981-1991, at Ticor Title in Administration. Inkie was such a special person; kind and considerate to everyone. We stayed in touch for many years.

I know she is having a wonderful reunion with her young son and husband, Don.

Bless you, Inkie, my life was enriched by your friendship. "Rest in Peace."

A lovely woman, with a thoughtful, kind heart. I have only the fondest memories of Inkie, as do my children. Rest in peace.

Dear Williams Family: I am so sorry to read this news. Inkie was a special friend to both my parents and to me. I have looked for her everytime we come to Ca but lost touch after she moved from her condo. Had no way to find her. If either Gail or Elaine would email me I would love it. I so loved Inkie and her warmth, and wit. She was a very special friend to me and my mother's best friend. [email protected]
