JACK DANFORTH Obituary

Jack Danforth passed away on July 28, 2013 at the age of 91, in Fresno, Ca. Danny entered the Oregon National Guard in 1940, joined the Army when the United States entered World War II, and was then drafted for the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1949, after a total of eight years, ten months, and four days of service. He retired from the San Jose Mercury News as a Stereotyper after 28 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian, who he shared 49 wonderful years with; and his step-son, Ronald Lee Aleshire. Danny is survived by step-son, Skip and his wife Elaine Aleshire; step-son, Brian and his wife Stephanie Aleshire; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces; nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at Oak Hill's Chapel of Roses, on Friday, August 9, 2013, from 4:00 - 9:0 p.m. A Committal Service will be held at Oak Hill Memorial Park, on Saturday, August 10, 2013, 11:00 a.m.
