JAMES OPIE

James Opie passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at 4:00 a.m., at the age of 88. He was born in Fresno, CA, on October 25, 1929. James was a building contractor in the Fresno area for over 40 years. He was a member of Peoples Church. His faith in Christ alone was steadfast since childhood. He left a Godly legacy for his family. He loved serving others with his talents and skills. He was a Disney fan, enjoyed watching hockey games, and loved hosting family gatherings. He was the king of homemade ice cream. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of 68 years; son, Douglass and wife Sherrie; son, Carl and wife Candy; five grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Marjorie Shultz. A Memorial Service will be held at Peoples Church in Fresno, CA, on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hinds Hospice; or Peoples Church Bereavement Fund.
