JOE M. COELHO, SR.
Joe was born to Frank and Laureana Coelho on February 4, 1917, and passed away peacefully at Nancy Hinds Hospice on Friday, October 7, 2005, at the age of 88. Joe was preceded in death by his wife Angie; brothers, Art and John Coelho; half-brother, Manuel Heleirio; sister, Olivia Goulart; and half-sister, Laura Mattos. He was the last of his generation. Joe was a wonderful man, loving, compassionate, and affectionate. He was a proud father of four, grandfather of 13, and great-grandfather of 17. His lifelong hobbies were hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also loved to play guitar, sing, and dance. He was a very hard working man and gave his family a wonderful life. He spent the last five years in Fresno, but lived most of his life in Riverdale with Angelina Coelho, his wife of 66 years. He was a Farmer and Dairyman in Lanare and Westside areas until the age of 49. At that time, he and Angie started traveling in their RV. They made numerous trips throughout the United States. They loved to camp, and spend time with friends and family. During their years of traveling, they experienced a wonderful trip to the Azores. There, they were able to explore the roots of their heritage. Joe was a member of the I.D.E.S. council #108, I.M.S.S. circle #16, and U.P.P.E.C. council #81. He is survived by his sons Joe, Jr. and his wife Robin of Fresno, and Richard and his wife Linda of Weber Falls, OK; and daughters, Janice Winebarger and her husband Les of Madera, and Audrey Winton and her husband Don of Fresno. "He touched many hearts and will be missed by all." Visitation will be held at Wallin's Riverdale Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 12, 2005, from 2:30 to 7:00 p.m. A Recitation of the Rosary and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Catholic Church on Thursday, October 13, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Laton, CA. A reception will immediately follow at St. Ann's Catholic Church Social Hall. Remembrances may be made in Joe's name to Nancy Hinds Hospice, 1416 W.
