JORDAN MONROE TELFORD, JR. "Mon"

Mon was born on October 25, 1926, in Brownfield, TX and passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2006, surrounded by his loving wife and family. While serving in the U.S. Navy, Mon met the love of his life Jerri, and they married in 1946. They celebrated 60 wonderful years together and showed by example what a loving and caring relationship should be. Mon returned to college after his discharge and graduated in 1948 from Texas A.M. University with a BS degree in Agronomy. Moving to California, he bought a farm near Sanger and held a variety of jobs, one of which was a grape buyer for Gallo Winery. He may be remembered as an appraiser and eventually the manager of the Federal Land Bank of Fresno. Retiring in 1977 from the bank, he turned to farming full time with his family. He farmed along side his son Monty until his death. Mon served on numerous Boards and Committees through the years and proudly shared the honor of Sanger's Mr. & Mrs. Farmer 1991 with Jerri. Often facing health problems, he never lost his positive attitude and deep faith in God. He loved spending time with his family and valued friends, feeding his ducks and fish, giving "tours" of the pond and cheering on his favorite football teams. He will be remembered as a man of his word, a witty story teller and a generous, loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be forever missed. Mon is survived by his wife Jerri; son Monty; daughters, Jennifer Tanney and Jessica Barrett and her husband David; grandchildren, Callie Rowell and her husband Roger, Brad Craycroft and his wife Erin, Jared Craycroft, and Ryan, Cassandra and Samantha Tanney; and great-granddaughters Ellie, Annie, Gillian and Lilly. A Graveside Service will be held at Sanger Cemetery on Friday, April 14, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to donor's favorite charity. WALLIN FUNERAL HOMESSanger, CA 875-6555
