Josephine Gutilla

June 21, 1933 - July 23, 2024

Fresno, California - Josephine Jean Gutilla was born June 21, 1933, in Fresno, California. The Lord summoned her to Heaven on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the age of 91.

She was preceded in her death by her loving husband of 59 years, Joseph Gutilla Sr., parents Daniel and Rose Giordano, and brother David Giordano.

She was a loving and devoted wife, a nurturing and caring mother, a cherished "Nana" to her grandchildren, "Gigi" to her great-grandchildren, beloved cousin and aunt, and a loyal and compassionate friend to many.

Her love and passion was cooking for her family, especially holidays and birthdays. She was renowned for her famous homemade sauce, meatballs, pizza, and cannoli's that she prepared for family Italian dinners. She also loved to play golf with her girlfriends at Belmont Country Club, along with coffee and biscotti at La Boulangerie in Fig Garden Village.

Josephine is survived by her four sons: Joseph Gutilla Jr. and wife Bernadette, Steven Gutilla and wife Karen, Christopher Gutilla and wife Jamie, and Matthew Gutilla. Sister Carole DiLecce and brother Dan Giordano Jr. and wife Joan. Along with her eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Josephine and the Gutilla Family are forever grateful for the three caretakers that assisted her later in life. Special thanks to Veronica, Nori, and Marilyn for their compassion, gentleness, and service. Also, the comfort care team at Clovis Community Hospital led by Lauren and Shaena.
