Fresno, California - Karmen Kalashian, 78, of Fresno, California, passed from this life peacefully on January 25, 2025. She was a beloved daughter and sister, who grew up surrounded by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was born on Good Friday, April 19, 1946, in Fresno, and given the Easter Time middle name "Bunny." Karmen grew up as the only daughter of Arthur and Pearl Kalashian, and sister of younger brother, Joseph Kalashian. She attended the First Armenian Presbyterian Church of Fresno, and especially enjoyed singing in the choir.

Karmen was a proud "Warrior," who graduated from Fresno High School in 1964. She earned a BA Degree in Social Sciences from CSU, Fresno in 1968. Karmen began her professional career with the Fresno County Department of Social Welfare. Several years later, she accepted a position at Stewart Title Company in Fresno. Karmen completed further university studies toward a Teaching Credential, qualifying her to work as a long-term substitute Teacher with Fresno Unified School District. She was an avid lover of the performing and visual arts. Karmen enjoyed traveling, including trips to the Hawaiian Islands, Mexico, Austria and Italy,

Karmen is survived by her brother, Joseph Kalashian (Mari Luise), niece Jonlyn Williams (Steve), a grandniece, Willa Louise Talkowski, along with many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Pearl Kalashian.

A special note of thanks to cousin, Judy Carmichael, for her unwavering love, compassion and support during both the good and challenging times throughout Karmen's life.

A service to celebrate Karmen's life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Yost and Webb Funeral Home at 11:00 am.
