Larry Mosesian Obituary

LARRY MOSESIAN Uncle Larry was born on September 3, 1914, to Jacob and Mary Mosesian in Selma, California and passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2006, at the age of 91. He retired from the farming operations in 1998. His parents, brothers, Ernest and Burton Mosesian, and sister, Venus Mosesian Rogers, preceded him in death. He attended Terry Grammar School and Selma High School where he made many friends that would last a life time. Larry proudly served in WWII in the Pacific Islands Campaign. Upon his return, the barn on the family ranch was converted into a shop and he worked as a mechanic repairing all kinds of vehicles. He was a diesel expert who repaired most of the farmer's equipment in the area. He owned a fleet of trucks that hauled fruit and vegetables for the West Side growers and was also the owner of "Larry's Fertilizer" who serviced alot of the local farmers in the area. You could always find Uncle Larry and his brothers at the family ranch with all of their cousins during the dove hunting seasons. Larry also enjoyed his trips to Santa Cruz with his family and friends, the deep sea fishing and clamming at Pismo. Uncle Larry loved people and was known by many. He had a great sense of humor and was a very generous person who cared for his family and friends. "He will be missed by all whose lives he touched." Larry is survived by his sister, Marion Chesnut and her husband Chuck; his nieces and nephews, Joylene and Ed Cappelletti, Arlene and Alan Young, Nancy and Steve Jeffries, Gail Pertell, Terry and Les Brown, and Robin and Joe Morris, and their families; and many cousins. Visitation will be at Lisle Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 29, 2006, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Ararat Cemetery in Fresno on Wednesday, August 30, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to Fresno Alzheimer's Foundation of Central CA., 4411 N. I have many great memories of Uncle Larry. One that stands out was Christmas day 1972 we were at the ranch and it was frosty and cold and Uncle Larry had made soft serve ice cream cones. I will miss him and his great sence of humor.
