Lily Watanabe Obituary

LILY YURIKO AJIOKA WATANABE Lily Yuriko Ajioka Watanabe passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2003, at her home in Fresno, CA, at the age of 85. Lily was born on June 6, 1918, in Wilford, ID to Saburo and Yoshii Ajioka. She grew up in Sandy, UT, and spent her early twenties in Los Angeles and in 1944 she married Kozo Watanabe, from Hanford, CA, and raised their family in Dinuba, CA. She was a bookkeeper, until retiring at age 70. She is survived by her husband. Kozo; her son, Steven Watanabe and his wife Carolyn; grandsons, Mark and Keith; her daughter, Carol Morrisson and her husband, Rick; and her daughter, Eileen Holz; and her grandson, Brett. Also surviving are her sisters and brothers, Elsie Koda, Laura Horii, Dewey Ajioka, John Ajioka, Jim Ajioka, and George Ajioka. She is preceded in death by her parents, Saburo and Yosbii, and a brother LeRoy. A Memorial Service will be held at Palm United Methodist Church in Dinuba, CA on Saturday, September 6, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. The family would like to thank her doctors and nurses at California Cancer Center and Nancy Hinds Hospice for their support and help. Hello,
I’m trying to get a hold of Elsie Koda’s family. I purchased one of her thread pairings from a vintage shop. I live in Saskatchewan Canada. The pieces is entitles San Francisco. I would love to see more of her work and let the family know how much I love her work.
