Lyla was born in Glendale, California on July 15, 1929, and died in Fresno, California on April 24, 2013, of pancreatic cancer.
Lyla is survived by her dear husband, Dr. Gerald V. MonPere; daughters, Barbara Brewer Johnson (Tom), and Nancy Brewer Cavagnaro (Francis); son William S. Brewer (Ann), their children and grandchildren. She is also survived by her step-children, Claudia Mon- Pere McIsaac, Julie MonPere Blyth (Bill), Paul MonPere (Terri), Phillip MonPere, Amy MonPere Thele (Bruce), and John MonPere (Elizabeth), their children, and her sweet dog, Bonnie.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 30, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at TorNino's Banquets in Fresno.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate in her memory to the Chaffee Zoological Gardens; the Children's Hospital of Central Californoa; or Hinds Hospice.
