Marci Scott Obituary

MARCI SCOTT Marci Scott passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, surrounded by her family after a short illness. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who is affectionately referred to as the "Queen of Jam", winning multiple awards every year at the Fresno Fair. Marci worked for Fresno Unified School District for over 30 years and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Crossword puzzles, visits to the coast and a faithful fan of "New Wrinkles" were just a few of her favorite pastimes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vivian Pratt and Bill Hillman. A special thank you to the loving and caring staff of Saint Agnes Hospital 3rd floor Critical Care Unit. In heaven chasing angels with a glue gun and sequins to decorate their wings, this is where she's gone now. Marci is survived by Meredith "Scotty" Scott, her loving husband of 34 years; daughters, Meg Beckwith Jennifer Kjelvik and Cori Scott; brothers, Kip and Ray Hillman; and grandchildren, Brandon and Briana Beckwith, and Hannah Kjelvik. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at Chapel of the Light, 1620 W. Belmont, Fresno on Thursday, February 1, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to Nancy Hinds Hospice, Poverello House or Oregon Airedale Rescue, 3235 Bonham St., Salem, OR 97302. Marcie was one of my bridesmaids some 40 years ago, and I babysat for Meg many times. I feel so ashamed that many many years have passed by since we have had any contact. But I loved her, she was always a part of our family.
Meg, you progably won't remember me but I think Scott will.

I will always remember Marci's wonderful smile and ability to see humor in just about everything. And I'll never forget how she was always ready to welcome newcomers to our big Guard family.

My heart goes out to you at your lose. I worked for Dr. Withrow in Visalia and I truly enjoyed having Marci and Scottie come into the office. Marci was always dressed for every occasion, whether it be an elfs hat that lite up or dressed in red, white and blue for the 4th. I loved her smile, laugh, lightheartedness. She truly was one in a million. One good thing about it; she's with the LORD! A place we all look forward to. GOD's blessings upon you.
Sincerely,
Diana Nixon-Rodriguez
