Lompoc, CA - The loving family of Marcia Lynne (Harris) Hart sadly announces her passing at the age of 73 on May 24th, 2023. Marcia was born February 25th, 1950, and grew up in San Pedro, CA with her loving family; George W. Harris, Martha L. Harris and brother, Gregory W. Harris.
Marcia graduated San Pedro High School 1968 and moved to Modesto, CA to be a part of a Fashion Merchandising Program that Modesto Junior College offered while working at Dunlap's Department Store, where she was promoted to buyer in 1974. Marcia had an incredibly successful career as a department store buyer for ladies better sportswear, including Liz Claiborne, at Dunlap's, then Hart's San Jose, ending at Gottschalks in Fresno. She was passionate about her career, and it gave her the chance to travel the world and make life-long friendships. While working out of Hart's in 1977, Marcia met the love of her life Brooke Hart and they married in 1979. Their lives were made a little sweeter with the birth of their adored only child, Alexandra, in 1988. After Gottschalks closed in 2009, Marcia worked for the Fresno County Library, Woodward branch, for several years. Upon retirement, they moved to Lompoc in 2017 where she enjoyed and was active in Lompoc's Historical Society, Alpha Club and Botanical Association.
Marcia was energetic and tenacious towards life, yet she also cherished the gentle, beautiful moments that life offered her. We will remember her for her smile, kind heart and generous nature. She is survived by husband Brooke Hart, daughter Alexandra Hart, son-in-law Chris Wallace, sweet cousins, dear friends and beloved kitties. Marcia will be greatly and forever missed by all those that love her.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 24th 10am at the Lompoc Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lompoc's Historical Society, PO Box 88, Lompoc CA 93438

Marcia was a really kind woman! She touched my heart and it was such a blessing having worked with Marcia at the Fresno county library! I throughly enjoyed working with her and we shared laughter together! Marcia always had a beautiful smile and I greatly miss her! She was a dear friend!

Marcia was a very kind person with a beautiful smile! I felt so blessed to have worked with Marcia at the Woodward Park library! She was a pleasure to work with and we shared good laughs. I remember when Marcia brought the most delicious oatmeal raisin cookies to share with coworkers! We had enjoyable visits at the Country Waffles restaurant ! Marcia touch my heart and life ❤. I miss her greatly!

I WORKED WITH MARCIA AT GOTTSCHALKS WE HAD A MUTUAL FRIEND BEVERLY JENESEN. KNEW MARCIA FOR OVER 25 YEARS. SHE WAS TRULY A GRACIOUS AND CARING INDIVIDUAL, SHE QUICKLY BECAME DRAWN TO ME ONCE SHE KNEW I TOOK IN CATS. AT ONE POINT I WAS FOSTERING 25 CATS. SHE WOULD ALWAYS WAS INTERESTED ON HOW THEY WERE DOING. SHE LOVE THE KITTIES. SHE WILL ALWAYS LEAVE A GREAT IMPRESSION IN MY HEART AND MEMORY. RIP ALWAYS META.

My deepest sympathy. Marcia was such a kind person with a beautiful smile! I worked with her at the Fresno county library Woodward Park branch. I remember Marcia made delicious oatmeal cookies to share with the staff at work! I feel so blessed to have worked with her! She was a very dear friend! I will greatly miss Marcia!

Marcia was a good friend through Alpha Club. We worked together on several committees. Having the most fun on the garden tour committee. She was a big help and always offered to help in ANY way. She will be missed.
