Margaret Ramos Obituary

Margaret (Montez) Ramos
September 13, 1936 - January 26, 2022
Frisco, Texas - Margaret Ramos, age 85, resident of Plano, Texas, born Sept.13, 1936 to Dometila and Bernardo Montez in Los Angeles, passed on Jan. 26, 2022 in Frisco, TX. Her journey began in Los Angeles in WW II where her mother "Rosie the Riveter" welded combat ships. After the war, moved to her Uncle Albert's ranch in Buttonwillow, CA. In 1952, she moved to Fresno, CA; attended Fresno High School, where her love of music joined the HS Band; with her beauty and talent became the Band's Head Majorette. She met Frank Ramos, a San Joaquin Memorial HS student; and while he enrolled in Fresno State they married. Frank's career paths gave them a diverse life experience with world travels to: Brazil to Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe, The Vatican, Turkey, Greece, Russia, the Baltic Countries, a trek to the top of an Alaskan Glacier. His career exposed Margaret to political leaders who appointed her: the Treasurer of the Hispanic Republican Party; the Republican National Committee: National Director, Hispanic Outreach Program; served in President G.W. Bush White House Correspondence Unit experiencing visits by many of the world's leaders and dignitaries as Queen Elizabeth and the Pope, and to many events like the WH Christmas Parties she so enjoyed. She is survived by her husband Frank, sons Frank Jr. (Amelia), Paul (Veronica), grandchildren, Rochelle, Steven, Cristina, Daniel, and Roberto Ramos, great-grandchildren Christian and Sophia, all affectionately called her "Mi Ma"; a sister Dorothy, and stepsister Carolyn. She was loved by so many for her warmth, humor, and giving personality. She lived a full and beautiful life we are saddened her wonderful life journey has ended. God Bless her!

I worked with Margaret at the Republican National Hispanic Assembly where she volunteered her time and talent. In actuality it was never work when Margaret was around. She made every day a fun adventure. Margaret was a wonder who lit up any room she was in. She had a huge heart and a delightful sense of humor. I am sad to learn of her passing and very sorry for her family's loss.
