MARILYN MISSAKIAN Obituary

Marilyn Missakian passed away peacefully at her Sunnyside home on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at the age of 82. She was born on December 12, 1934, to Henry and Rose Barserian of Fresno, CA. After graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1952, she married the love of her life, Charles Missakian of Fowler, CA in 1954. They started a successful small business, Valley Ceramic Tile, Co. As the controller of their business, Marilyn helped diversify their portfolio by the purchase of numerous homes throughout the Fresno community. Marilyn served many years as an active board member of the Ani Guild for the Armenian Home. She was a veracious reader, accomplished chef, and hostess. Marilyn was known to always have a fresh pot of her special blend coffee ready for anyone one who came by. Many weekends, you could find Marilyn at their cabin in Bass Lake or catching fish on their boat. The entire family would vacation every year in Santa Cruz at the "Armenian Riviera, better known as "The Dream Inn." Marilyn had a heart of gold and was dedicated to her family and friends. Her handwritten notes would lift anyone's spirit. Five weeks ago, Marilyn was diagnosed with lung cancer and it did not slow her down. She was doing her bookwork, entertaining, and holding court the day before Jesus took her home to be with Him. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles Missakian; son, Mark Missakian and Terry Barrett; daughters, Carrie Margosian and her husband Aron, and Lisa Rose White and her husband David; grandchildren, Zachary Missakian, Amos Margosian, Margo Margosian, Gunner White, and Taylor Rose White; great-granddaughter, Zoie Margosian; brother, Kalem Barserian and his wife Joyce; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at Pilgrim Armenian Congregational Church, 3673 North First Street, Fresno, CA, on Friday, April 7, 2017, at 11:00 a.m.

Thinking of you Aunt Marilyn!

April 14, 2017

Dear Chuck and Family. I loved Marilyn so much,I'll never forget what a wonderful special lady she was. She always had a smile on her face, and always a special greeting when I saw her. She always called me kid. I'll never forget her. I meet both her and Chuck in 1987. I just found out about her passing today and I'm deeply saddened and shocked by the news. All my love to you.
