Marvin Horne Obituary

Marvin Arthur Horne was born on September 21, 1971, in Fresno, Ca. and passed away on Monday, February 25, 2008.

Marvin grew up and lived on his grandfather's vineyard in the Kerman area. He was an organic raisin farmer and an expert in organic vineyard farming. He helped his father and grandfather convert to organic farming in the late 1980's. Marvin pioneered the use of neem oil and other natural products for insect control and vine health on the family vineyards. He was also the operations manager for his family's organic raisin packing facility. He was a working manager that supervised the packing of his own organic raisins and those of many other organic raisin farmers. Marvin was an innovative recycler who made compost and bio-fuel from raisin waste. Marvin's life will continue by his donation of his organs and tissue through the California Transplant Donor Network. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Marvin is survived by his three children Sydney, Devin and Matthew; mother and father, Marvin and Laura Horne; sister, Cheryl Miller and her husband Scott and their son Derek; his grandfather, Donald Durbahn; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Marvin's life and lasting imprint will be celebrated at Grand Occasions, 4584 Jacquelyn, Fresno, on Mon-day, March 3, 2008, from 11: 00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please come and share your memories with us. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Marvin A. Horne Educa-tional Trust Fund for his children at Central Valley Community Bank, 360 S. Madera Ave, Kerman, Ca. 93630. Marvin was a wonderful friend to myself and husband Randy. We have spent so many times throughout the years having so much fun! Trips, parties, weddings or just hanging out was better when Marv was around. He will be greatly missed! Our hearts and prayers go out to his family

My prayers to Marvin in heaven, his family and his many friends...Id like to pass a beautiful quote that was given to me 5 years ago when I lost my sister..."Faith is a substance hoped for, and evidence of things unseen".
I hope somehow we can all find our faith to get us through any loss...Blessings,
Pauline

Dear Marvin, Laura and Cheryl,

I was truely shocked after having gotten the bitter-bad news of Marvins death! I remember the times we spent together in 1979/1980 as if it was yesterday. He surely will stay in my heart.
Wishing you much strength to get over your big loss! Love, Ernst

There is no doubt that Marvin was one of the most extraordinary individuals that I have ever known. Marvin will be missed by many, but will no doubt be remembered for all he gave of himself while here with us. Marvins memory will forever remain our hearts.

To everyone who loved our
Our dear son/father/brother/friend has moved on. Let us always remember his smile, his laugh, & his enduring love for all of those that he touched. He will be greatly missed; but we must remember at such a sorrowful time; the wonderful memories that was his gift to each one of us. A day won't go by that we will not think of & miss you. May we all find peace with our great loss. Goodbye my friend. I love you & miss you so.
To Marvin's family;
If there is ANYTHING I can help with to ease this difficult time, please let me know. My prayers are with you. God Bless...

Marvin, you were a wonderful man and we were all lucky to have had you in our lives. You were smart and funny and your dance moves, well the pictures speak for themselves.
I am happy to have gotten to hang with you on Halloween and I wish we would have had many more times but I know your watching over us all and sending stars our way. Tell Sam I think about him a lot and miss him too.
My prayers are with your family and children.
We love you buddy!

I am so thankful to have had Marvin in my life. He was a caring friend and great listener. I loved how his blue eyes sparkled when he talked about being a Dad and his enormous love for his family and pets was so special.
I will forever miss his wonderful laugh, smooth dance moves, and most of all his friendship. Marv was taken to soon but I feel peace knowing he is shining down on us all. My prayers are with you and I am extremely sorry for your loss. God Bless
