I am deeply saddened by Mason's death. Like many of us, we got to know Mason through his knowledge of seafood.
Whenever I went to the MM I asked to see Mason and he always walked out from the filet/storage room not only to wait on me but to come around the counter and give me a hug and spend a few minutes talking to me. I remember the one constant in his life that he talked about and that was his love of family. He spoke of his children in such endearing terms and was so proud of them. Mason was a thoughtful, kind and caring man. I'll miss you, I'll miss your smile, I'll miss your hugs.
Fondly, Ellen Dean-Erganian

I first met Mason 9/1952, as second graders at Dry Creek Eementry School and have remain friend since. I last talked with Mason about two months ago. He was not feeing very well that day and our conversation was short. Little did I know that it would be the last time I would talk with. When ever he saw my brother, he would always aske about me. Yes Mason was a very kind man and very pleasant to be around. We were classmate, worked together picking peaches and smoked those Hava tamps cigars Mason was always very kind made you feel like it had only been a few days since he had last seen you. All of your freind are going to miss you. My condolences to his family, mother and father Fidel "Fud" Parra Portland, OR 1/7/2009

To the Family of Mason,
We first met Mason many years ago when he worked at Central Fish and we became friends. He was always so friendly, kind, funny, generous, and smart and we enjoyed the times we were able to spend with him. We know he was well-liked by those who met him. He loved his children and parents and spoke of them often. We are deeply saddened to hear of his passing and want to express our deepest sympathy in your loss.
