MATSUKO MARY NOMURA

Matsuko Mary Nomura was born in Kingsburg, CA, on November 19, 1921, to Katsuo and Hana Yoshimoto. She grew up on the family farm, "Sandy Hill", in Kingsburg with her siblings, Haruo, Noboru, Yoshiye, and Mike. It was there that she learned several skills that developed into hobbies she enjoyed for the rest of her life: gardening, sewing, reading, and cooking. Her family has many fond memories of her making them banana cream and lemon meringue pies, as do many of you reading this. She married Tokio Ted Nomura on February 28, 1940. They were blessed with three children, Larry, Ruthie, and Glen. They worked hard to provide for their family, and their efforts were rewarded. They enjoyed ballroom dancing lessons, traveling, and spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family dinners and trips to the beach were enjoyed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Tokio Ted Nomura; and her brothers, Haruo Yoshimoto, and Noboru Yoshimoto. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Ellen Nomura, of Fresno; her daughter and son-in-law, Ruthie and Joe Ceballos, of Fresno; her son, Glen Nomura, of Kingsburg; her sister, Yoshiye Honda, of Los Angeles; her brother, Mike Yoshimoto, of San Jose; her sister-in-law, Vivian Nomura; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Vintage Gardens; Fresno and Clovis Community Hospitals; and Hinds Hospice for the excellent care provided to their mother and grandmother.
