MIKEL ANTHONY McFALL Sr.

Mikel McFall, Sr., age 58, of Fresno, CA, passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side after a courageous battle with lung cancer on Friday, March 23, 2018. He was born on March 3, 1960, to his loving parents, Davee and Lydia McFall, in Fresno. He attended St. Alphonsus Catholic School, Lane Elementary School, Sequoia Middle School, and Roosevelt High School. He played football at Roosevelt High, and graduated in 1978. He enjoyed Karate, which he did for over 40 years, as well as bike riding. He started working for 7Up Bottling Company in 1977, after school loading trucks. Later he was in sales for a while before becoming a route delivery driver for almost 28 years. Then in 2005, he was promoted to Operations Manager. He was a hard worker with a passion to get the job done right all the time. He loved his job, his co-workers and the people he interacted with on his routes over the years. He got along with everyone. He joined the Fresno Police Department Reserves in December of 1998, and became a proud member of the Mounted Patrol Unit in 2008. He loved being with the horses and officers. He would always come home from riding the horses and say "I can ride, baby!" He enjoyed the interaction with the public when they would go to events in town. Mikel enjoyed life to the fullest and naturally always had a smile on his face. He made others laugh and smile at his witty sayings or jokes all the time. He would always say "I've got to keep you guys entertained!" He was a very unique, kind, loving, caring and strong willed man who loved his family dearly. He was always willing to give his advice or wisdom to anyone who wanted it. Mikel was always there for you if you needed help at anytime. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Davee McFall; mother, Lydia McFall; uncles, L.J. Sam of Los Angeles, CA, A.D. McFall, L.C. McFall, and Roy Sam, all of Fresno; his uncle, Herman Sam; aunt Mary Sam of Louisiana; aunt Joyce; and uncle, Bill Laday of Los Angeles. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Suzanne Berry McFall; his son, Mikel McFall, Jr.; his daughter, Mikayla McFall and Chance Gonzales Davis; his sisters, Juanita McFall, Deneva Barnes and husband Dan; nephews, Jalani Simon, and Jerome Burton; niece, Macie Mason; great-nieces, Janaya, Janissa, Jocelyn Simon, and Jaziah Burton, all of Fresno; and his aunt, Vera McFall of Fresno, CA. He is also survived by a host of cousins and god-children. A special thank you to his cousin, Candace Henderson, for being by his side no matter when he called for her. And Thank you also to Roger and Evelyn Logan for all of your time and support you gave to him and the family. A Viewing will be held at Boice Funeral Home on Thursday, April 5, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Boice Funeral Home on Friday, April 6, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. A Graveside Service will be at Academy Cemetery.
