MILO JACOBSEN Obituary

Milo Anton Jacobsen, a lifelong Easton, CA, area farmer, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015. Milo was born on August 24, 1924, to Gotfred and Kirstine "Daisy" Jacobsen. He lived all of his 90 years on the same property his father purchased back in the early 1900's. In addition to farming in the greater Easton area, Milo also farmed at times near Raisin City, CA, and Winnemucca, NV. Throughout the years, he grew a variety of crops, including grapes, prunes, sweet corn, pumpkins, peanuts, alfalfa, garlic, onions, soybeans, artichokes, sugar beets, black eyed peas, sunflowers, vegetable seed, bok choy, carrots, tomatoes, and much more. Always one to have a shovel in his hand, there wasn't much he couldn't grow, and through the years many sought out his farming wisdom. Beyond the farm, Milo truly valued the time he spent with family and friends, lending a helping hand to anyone who needed one. Additionally, Milo learned to fly and enjoyed numerous trips over the years with family and friends, including destinations all over the western United States and Mexico. He had the opportunity to travel to several places, including memorable visits to Australia and New Zealand. He enjoyed tending and building up his yard, which, among many accomplishments, included raising hundreds of sago palms that he took great pride in. The Jacobsen family thanks those at Community Regional Medical Center; and Horizon Health & Subacute Center, who took such wonderful care of Milo during his brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gotfred and Daisy; brother, Gotfred, Jr.; and sister, Meta Stansell. Milo is survived by Janice, his wife of 64 years; two sons, Ray and his wife Debbie, and Randy and his wife Liz; and daughter, Carol Brown and her husband Michael. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous friends. An open house will be held to celebrate Milo's life on Sunday, August 30, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For more information, please call 559-266-3902. Remembrances may be made to the charity of your choice. Stephens & Bean Chapel, 202 North Teilman Avenue, Fresno, California (559)268-9292

Hi..you never met me, but my grandparents lived on Walnut Avenue - George and Mollie Seibert, and Ray bought their property - I remember that cotton was planted on year, because while at my grandparents I remember the cotton pickers picking cotton one October, probably. I know that my dad (Don Seibert) grew up with Milo, and while he passed away 5 years ago, I know that they were men who cared very much about their family, and were well respected men of their generation - not a day goes by that I don't miss my dad. Those were great days on the farm.
