Nubar Tokatian

Nubar Tokatian was born in Khartoum Sudan on February 17, 1917. At the age of five, his family moved to Alexandria, Egypt, and later he landed in New York, then finally in Fresno. He was courageous, generous, patriotic, and an excellent husband and father, giving the most precious thing: quality time. Nubar passed away on July 6th, 2013 at the age of 96. Nubar was an industrial graphic artist at Berven Rug Mills, positioned as a carpet designer. The family wishes to profoundly thank Dr. Steven Chooljian; and caregivers, Marine' Voskanyan, Ruzanna Magaryan and Karine' Khalatian. Nubar is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Aram and Lisa Tokatian; two granddaughters, Adrine' and Carina Tokatian; step-son, Greg Mikaelian; two nieces, Sonia Keshishian of Los Angeles, and Mary Madeley of Australia. Visitation will be held at Yost and Webb Funeral Home on Thursday, July 11, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. followed by a Home Service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul Armenian Church in Fresno on Friday, July 12, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. A Graveside Service will follow at Masis Ararat Cemetery.
